British producer Kove has brought his new sounds back to MTA Records, and has just dropped the four-track “Murmurations.” He has been taking the dancefloor scene by storm since emerging a couple of years back and his versatility as a producer has opened many doors. Obviously being on an imprint run by Chase & Status hasn’t done him any harm, and Kove’s remixes have included work for Foxes, Example and John Newman.

He first brought out an EP last year – “Measures”, which really enabled him to display his sounds on a solid platform. “Murmurations” is an apt follow on to this, and is once again divided between house and drum & bass – two genres that Kove seems equally comfortable producing. Here, the standout track has to be “Still High”, a trippy yet euphoric piece of D&B that lifts the entire collection. There is also an impressive collaboration with fellow UK producer Dimension on “Feel Love Again” – synth-heavy and with plenty of dynamics.

In terms of the house on here, Kove may have gone down the controversial route with “Drop” – a fairly aggressive ode to big room that is quite a step away from other mid tempo tracks such as last year’s crowd pleaser “Love For You.” “VCO” is a more enjoyable addition – bassy and packed full of chunks of vocals.

Another significant release from this club favourite – and one that shows he is definitely here to stay. Pick up “Murmurations” here.
